Attack in Habaraba - 67 killed

LTTE terrorists rammed the Naval convoy at Digampatana in Habarana with an explosive laden vehicle around 1.30p.m today (Monday the 16th of October).

A huge explosion has occurred causing severe destruction to both naval personnel and the civilians in the area.

According to the latest information available at least 67 people were killed and over 60 people suffered serious injuries in the explosion. However, the sources said that the death toll and the casualty figures could be increased further.

The naval convoy comprising 15 buses were parked at the Diagmpatana rendezvous point at the time of the attack. Over 150 unarmed naval personnel who were going on leave were believed to be present at the location.

Hospital sources said five buses filled with the victims have reached the General hospital Dambulla. Those with critical injuries have immediately been air lifted to Colombo, Kurunegala and Kandy hospitals.

So is this the Start to Peace talks.. or is this what has been churning in the belly of those tigers?

This is probably retaliation for the failed military attack last week.

Well we ain't stopping this war by using force, it is time to talk peace or the dumb shits who want war should be the ones who are leading the war instead cooling their asses in AC offices in colombo and in the AC offices in jungles. I am talking about both sides.

I feel sorry for the youngs ones who are laying their innocent lives for these corrupt individuals.

Sarath Fonseka has lost his head and is now trying to take the centre stage. Maybe he will try to over throw the president in a military takeover of sri lanka.

No doubt there had been some severe damages to our forces during recent weeks, and realistically speaking, "it could happen in a war". Both parties engaged in the war should expect damages. (Yes, go ahead and say VIC doesn't have any feeling towards the dead ones. I don't care what you think. Only I know about what my feelings are)

But, what I notice in the midst of recent status quo, is that "some peolple's" attempt to attack Sarath Fonseka, by taking these damages as a tool (including the anonymous above)

We all know, tigers doesn't like Sarath Fonseka (SF). That's why they wanted to kill him at the first instance. Now, their propeganda people (who are trying to appear as "un biased" and "peace advisors" for both sides) are trying to point the finger at SF for recent deaths, and do what they couldn't achieve with the sucide bomber; keep SF away from SL Military mechanism.

Well I dont mean to sound heartless as well, but these are results or war. Fought by both the sides. War is such that no one party can dominate for a long time. Specially when your fighting against a Guerilla fraction with the Boldness to carry out Suicide attacks, it was just a matter of time as you would say. However praise should be given to the armed forces for spoiling all attemts thus far, but you cannot stop the innevitable.

There is no point harping on the fact that soldiers were unarmed returning from their vaction etc, (because we all know that Tigers dont play fair) unless to gain some millage from the International Community, that too is highly doubfut as the Tiger Properganda machine is far peircing than any GoSL motion put forward.

The Tigers broke the Back of our Propaganda machine with the slaying of Kadirgama and we have no hope since there is little to say about the ties that MR has Internationally.

This juncture no doubt would be an interesting one and a milestone, as with the case that the Sri Lankan political movement favouring war has now been brought down from it's high horse to reality. The two main political parties are on the brink of signing a Political MoU that could strengthen the message for peace and heed more political backing from the International Community with the support of Ranil W.

So are we going ahead with the Talks scheduled on the 28th? Are we going to retaliate and bomb "Key Military Target" in Tiger Controlled Areas and show off that we are undettired by the attacks. Or BOTH?
