Ok.. firstly neither am I a Sirasa Fan (although I love the MTV porgramme's) and the last thing I am is a JVP'er.So now that's clear everybody know the row between the two. If you dont, VIC's the man to ask. So now JVP have come back at Sirasa calling it "Koti (Tiger=LTTE) Sirasa". So if you guys have been watching the news yesterday or day before, you'd have seen a big publicity given to a Police raid on a brothel.
Why? I mean these are done on a daily basis. And then re-opened and patronized by the same cops. So why make such a big fuss, featuring this brothel on two occasions? Any guesses?
Turns out that the Owner of the so called brothel, is none other than Mr. Somawansa Amarasinghe's (One of the JVP Leaders) sister, according to an email I received and the hinting on the news.

These guys are turning out to be like the Leader (Sunday News Paper).

I 200% agree with you on the fact they facilitate us "pure entertainment" with some "opa dupa" during the prime news time. Actually, Sirasa should give us some entertainment at all some how. Because, what they show us as entertainment is pathetic & Disastourous!!! Chiththi, Praveena, Kavya, Uuuuughps!
Some one complained about TV entertainment in SL, on Moju. May be he should try Sirasa News First :-)
Sirasa should learn principles of responsible media handling from the begining. May be they should learn from their big time competitor, Swarnawahini. Can you ever relate Swarnawahini Live @ 8 news as a biased program to any political party, or against any political party? can you?
It's true JVP is playing it too hard on media these days. (Especially on cartoon artists of daily papers). But, we expect "something" better from the media, than from bloody shit political parties.
Having said that boys, if indeed there is some truth to the fact that the Jeppa leader owns a brothel, that is fairly fundamental news, and something that needs to be exposed.
Yes - I agree that there are probably hundreds of similar atrocities committed by politicians of other parties. Sirasa would do well to cover those as well. But perhaps we shouldn't be too hard on them exposing the JVP for what it really is. An party exploitative of the common, uneducated man while being run by capitalist thugs.
Total impartiality is something almost impossible to achieve. But you can try. And you guys are right in that Sirasa sometimes doesn't even try.
It's just each other throwing mud/shit at each other. I'm actually happy that Sirasa managed to find some thing like this, specially at a time, where there is a big row, over JVP accusing SLFP of prostitution.
After all, somebody has to expose these dude's. Who call them selves one thing, and travel in X5's, spend 15 grand on shirts etc. :)
